Information data is an important property for organisations, enterprises. Thus, ensuring data security for data storage services is extremely important, especially in the developing IT environment, threats and risks are increasing more and more day by day.

VNPT’s Data Center provides the biggest data storage service in Vietnam regarding investment amount, floor area, setting server ability and security standard to comprehensive services.

Being aware of the importance and the danger of losing IS, VNPT implemented IDC construction and operation on ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard. According to this standard, information and the relating systems, processes and employees are the property and need to be protected. Because information exists and is stored in many different forms, so organisations have to get appropriate protecting methods to limit risks.

Beside the IS risks caused by being attacked by deliberate sabotage, organisations might also encounter information risks if: Management processes, operations were not ensured; Managing access rights had not been checked and reviewed periodically; Perception of staffs in using and exchanging information was incomplete… Therefore, in addition to technical methods, organisations should formulate appropriate policies, regulations, operation processes and apply those ones to reduce risks.

Understanding that matter, beside synchronizing technical measures at the highest level, VNPT implements management/operation processes strictly on ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard, even entry-exit process of technical room, machinery system operation, risk control and prevention. The above processes emphasize on equipping standard knowledges and skills for operating personnel, administrative teams to ensure data security at the highest level. Incidents from losing IS caused by users would be minimized when staffs were trained, improved IS awareness. This standard supports also control activity, maintaining, upgrading and updating periodically VNPT’s IS measurement.
